Abstract
The essay examines the characteristic features of philosophical argumentation. The aims and structure of philosophical argumentation are contrasted with the aims and structure of logical and mathematical proofs. The examples of Plato’s notions of pleasure and Frege’s notions of number are used to demonstrate the peculiarities of the philosophical inquiry practice.
